HP Laserjet 2840 “scanning error cannot connect” message on printer
Monday, September 29th, 2008We have had continual problems with HP Laserjet scan to PC functions. The latest was on a HP Lasejet 2840 color all in one printer. I found one article on the HP website that helped me resolve the issue.

I had to do things a little different from the last comment that was posted.
- Kill the “Status~m” process in task manager
- download and run the HPFixscan utility from – tinyurl.com/8cn8m
- restart the computer (or restart the HP Toolbox)
I was then able to scan again to the PC
